Expert Answer

FSGS is one common kidney disorder that may be characterized by proteinuria, hematuria, swelling, high blood pressure, etc. All of these symptoms and kidney damage will affect the safety to get pregnant for women with FSGS.

This doesn't mean FSGS patients can't get pregnant. Although FSGS isn't curable completely at present, some therapies can make patients get complete remission in clinic. Only if patients get complete remission and get rid of FSGS symptoms, can they have chance to have a baby safely.

However, because you have swelling, we suggest you to manage it firstly and then consider to have baby.

If swelling is companied by proteinuria, medications that can help manage proteinuria are needed. To prevent side effects and prepare for pregnancy, we would like to suggest Chinese medicine for you.
